The First Few Days at CV

Posted by blonde | General | August 2007

Hi, I’m Brittany!

OK, so I just started high school at Central Valley High. No I’m not a freshman, I’m a Junior. At first I thought it was a horrible thing and that I would completely and utterly hate it. But funny enough, it’s not like that at all. I am actually enjoying myself. I started myself in the school’s Yearbook class; It is so much fun!  I get to do so many things in that class. For instance, I helped out with picture day giving the kids their little slips for their pictures, It was a lot of fun, not to mention I got out of all my classes all day. Then I get to carry around a camera and just take picture, which is what I love doing anyways so it’s not really a big deal. Today I found out that I get to video tape Friday’s Rally!!! I was so excited!! I instantly called my dad and then my mom to tell them about the great news! Yearbook is such a good thing for me. I am meeting a lot of new people….different? Yes, but nice.

Another thing that has happened to me is that I joined the CV Varsity swim team! I missed swimming so much because I used to do it when I was younger on a team. My coach is a really nice lady and all the kids seem to be pretty motivated and fun to be around. I got all my things that I needed for it; suit, goggles, bag, towel the works. Not to mention swimming is great exercise and it’s good for my knee that I hurt not to long ago. My first meet is on Wednesday September 5 against West Valley High our rivals. I am super excited to go and WIN!

I truly thought that I would hate everything about this school, and I didn’t much care for my parents making me switch schools and leaving my music and friends at Enterprise, But I learned something. CV is a good thing for me. It’s a chance for me to start from scratch and not have to be someone I’m not to impress people which was all I was doing at Enterprise. Everyone is different and they aren’t afraid to be who they are. Now if you ask me, That’s the best way to be!

I can say as Britt’s father I am very pleased to see her write this. I was really worried about the move and asking her to go to a new school with only two years left.

Keep up the good work Britt.

    Love
    Dad

I am so happy for you. It is hard to start a new school as a Junior I am sure. Keep up the good work and do good. But most of all be yourself and have fun!
You go girl…. Look forward to reading more.

I am very impressed with how my little girl is growing up. You are looking at this whole experience with maturity & confidence & that is great to see. Keep up the good work my dear daughter & you will achieve anything you set your goal to be.

    Love,
    Mom
