Telnet taking over the world one command at a time

Posted by Admiral70 | Computers | January 2008

telnet It amazes me how much Telnet is still used these days.  I personally have not used it a lot.  The corporation I work for uses it a lot to remote into routers and switches.

Wikipedia says

TELNET (TELecommunication NETwork) is a network protocol used on the Internet or local area network (LAN) connections. It was developed in 1969 beginning with RFC 15 and standardized as IETF STD 8, one of the first Internet standards.

If your an IT person and have not had the pleasures of using Telnet.  I recommend that you get some training so that you can be competitive in the industry.  With the new year upon us I think that should be a goal of mine.  Get back into telnet commands to have a competitive edge in this over crowded industry called information technology.

What about you, do you have a need for Telnet
