Make Your Travel Plans Early And Save

Posted by Admiral70 | Holidays, Reviews | December 2007

With the holiday season upon us and people traveling I recommend looking online for your Hotel Reservations.  At Hotel Reservations [dot] com you can book all your travel plans.  I found there interface easy to use and saw some competitive rates.

Take a look at this round trip to Hawaii with Hotel package.  From Redding that looks pretty inviting to me.  From Redding to anywhere is generally more expensive.

Hotel Reservations

Let’s all make our Hotel Reservations, destination ’somewhere’ and run away for a week.

As with any online reservation website do your homework to make sure your getting the best deal possible.

Get Paid to Blog With Pay Per Post

Posted by Admiral70 | Blogging, Reviews | November 2007

I signed up for Pay Per Post to get paid to blog to help offset some web hosting fees.  Pay Per Post allows me to do some freelance writing/reviewing for companies.  Pay Per Post allows me to perform reviews with my own opinions good, bad or indifferent.  I have looked into other sites that do the same type of service but they always want positive only reviews I like to be honest for my readers.  Here is a sample of an opportunity and the requirements for reserving/accepting.

pay per post

Once you click on reserve opportunity you have  six hours to write a review and post it to your blog.  Once you have it posted you copy the URL of the post and go back to your account on Pay Per Post and past it in the appropriate area for that opportunity.  Then within 48 hours Pay Per Post will scan your site to make sure you have filled your requirements.  Once they do that and your approved you will be paid for that review.  You agree to leave the post on your site for 30 days.

Along the way I have found other great blogs with various topics.  I like the “Stuff” category as this pertains to me.  Kind of like this blog which is about “stuff” a little bit of everything.  The opportunities are as diverse as the sites participants.  Check out the 2008 Blogger’s Choice Awards website for blogs.

You have a good chance to network with other Posties through Pay Per Post website.  They even have an online community called Izea or Community for Pay Per Post.

Let’s not forget they have badges or banners that you can add to your site that ask others if they want their site, product, or service reviewed by your blog.

Nintendo For SaleI stumbled upon a great site for Nintendo Nes, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and Atari consoles and games called NintendosForSale.com.  Looking through the site reminded me of the good ole days.  The days when I use to rack up the points in Donkey Kong.  Who could forget playing Super Mario Bros All Stars?  I would sit for hours playing Mario Bros at first getting through all levels.  Once I did that a time or two I would go on missions to find the shortcuts and all the extras.

Who here is young enough at heart to recall Atari?  At NintendosForSale.com you can actually purchase an Atari with a long list of games that include some of my first memories of playing video games.  Here are just a couple of my all time favorites:

  • Arcade Pong
  • Centipede
  • Lunar Lander
  • Millipede
  • Missile Command

Come on now who can forget playing Pong that basic yet addictive game of two paddles hitting a ball back and forth.  How about Centipede?  Don’t let that little bug get you.  I could sit and play Lunar Lander for hours and feel like an Astronaut.  Great memories!

Ever Wondered What Print Cartridge Goes To Your Printer?

Posted by Admiral70 | Computers, Reviews | November 2007

Cartridge FinderAre you like me and forget what print cartridge goes to your printer?  Wonder no more, Cartridge Finder makes finding your printers cartridge a snap.  Cartridge Finder has an easy to use interface that makes it simple to figure out which cartridges are required for more than 10,000 different models of printer, copier, and fax machines.  All you need to know to start is the name of your device (i.e. HP, Brother, Epson, etc…).  They even provide pictures to help if you don’t know the model number.  The site also checks PriceGrabber.com’s merchant listings to find you the best price on the product you need.  They will look online along with local store’s that might have a deal in your area.  My printer came up a bunch of different online locations to purchase the cartridge along with local stores like Office Depot and Circuit City.

I recommend bookmarking Cartridge Finder for future reference.

Marcus Daniel Cigar’s are a Must Try?

Posted by Admiral70 | Reviews | November 2007

Marcus Daniel Cigars

I had the pleasure of having a Marcus Daniel Entrepreneur 6×50 cigar during the holiday.

Bidwell Cigar says it is the Cabernet of Cigars.

This cigar is made of 100% Sun Grown Spanish Honduran Leaf, which is perfectly balanced from start to finish. This Honduran Puro is Medium to Full Bodied with a complimentary balance of leather, cocoa and coffee. This blend took several years to perfect and is made of some of the most expensive aged tobaccos available. It has solid construction and will grow a long gorgeous milky ash. If you like to smoke cigars all the way down, remove the band and finish with a strong follow-through, then this is it! Marcus Daniel…when money is no object! (SM)

I found the cigar was definitely full bodied and does have a slight hint of coffee bean.  I did not find the cocoa taste that Bidwell Cigar talks about however, I will need to try another just to be sure.  The cigar had a great smell and a wonderful woody finish it was very complex and loaded with flavor well rolled (not to tight or loose) and I found the size just right.

If you are not familiar with Marcus Daniel Cigars I recommend visiting there website.  Who knows maybe Bidwell Cigar will read this post and want to send me some cigars to do other review’s ;)

What Everybody Ought to Know About The Eagles New Album

Posted by Admiral70 | Reviews | November 2007

EaglesThe Eagles have released there first album in over 20 years.  The album named Long Road Out of Eden is comprised of 20 all new songs.  The album is classic Eagles but lacks greatness.  I find the album tries to address to many political and environmental issues.  So far the song that has potential of being remembered is a great Eagles song is Long Road Out Of Eden.  To me this song is about getting our troops out of Iraqi but it still has a great beat and harmony.  I especially like the following verse:

“Having lunch at the Petroleum Club
Smokin’ fine cigars and swappin’ lies
Gimme ‘nother slice o’ that barbecued brisket!”

It starts off with some sort of wind pipes almost like an American Indian call.  Then get’s into the upbeat classic Eagles you remember from the 70’s.

As a die hard Eagles fan I am very pleased to have a new album with all new music.  The young die hard in me was hoping there would be one stand out like Hotel California, Long Run, Desperado, and so many others.  There just lacks that greatness in my mind.

I would like to hear what others think of the album?
