Test Your Booze Knowledge Before The New Years Eve Party

Posted by Admiral70 | Beverages | December 2007

I can not believe I only got a 95%.  Not that I am an alcoholic but was once a bartender and enjoy reading everything related to the bar industry.  Click the picture below to test your booze knowledge.

95%ALCOHOLIC

Here are a few of my must read bar blogs and visited website’s.

CocktailDB - They differ from other cocktail web sites in numerous ways, but mainly, all of the recipes in CocktailDB have been authenticated in print. This cuts out all the sophomoric, never-once-ordered recipes clogging many other drink sites. They already have the largest collection of verified drink recipes on the Internet or in any book, and this collection will continue to grow.

Bartender.com - Bartender magazine online, your number one trade magazine.

Two Drink Minimum; The After 5 Cocktail Blog - At After 5 our motto, “Celebrating the art of celebrating,” is just a politically correct way of saying we really like to party. As such, you’ll find here a rip-roaring collection of drink and cocktail-related wares…

Cabo Wabo Tequila - The Red Rocker himself promotes this tequila.  What does he like to drink?

Red Rocker

1 1/2 oz Cabo Wabo Reposado Tequila
1/2 oz Amaretto
3 oz Cranberry Juice
Splash Lime Juice

Shake in a shaker half-filled with ice.  Strain into a chilled martini glass

Let’s end this with a little Flair Bartending from one of the legends Christian Delpech.

Incase I don’t write to you before New Years Eve.  Have a safe night and remember to buckle up and Designate a Driver.

Coming in 2/1/08 this is an event that you should know about… 5 second short audio ads on any and all pages of any or your website’s. You earn money every time a page is viewed!

First there was Pay Per Click advertising which pays you on the small percentage of website visitors that actually click on an advertisement.

Now there is “Pay Per Play” advertising by Net Audio Ads that will pay you on 100% of your website traffic… NO CLICKS NECESSARY!

Pay Per Play caters to an audience that is larger than radio, television and print media combined!

Billions of dollars are being spent by big brand advertisers and they are ready to pay you. Will you claim your share of the pie? Or will you let someone else have it?

QUESTION: What is the compensation structure for this program?

ANSWER:

  • 25% of what the advertiser spends on PPP ads you serve on your own website(s).
  • 5% of what the advertiser spends on PPP ads played on the website(s) of those you refer.
  • 5% of what the advertiser spends on PPP ads played on the website(s) that your direct referrals bring on board.

How long Exactly do you think this opportunity will last?

ANSWER: This opportunity will always exist for our core marketing partners but after we have enough partners to “cover the world” then we will close the opportunity for anyone else to earn by referring others. This is a pre-launch and everything goes live on February 1, 2008.

Website owners will always be able to earn 25% by hosting the Play Per Play code on their website(s), this will never end but the referral period will.

Think about how nice it will be to have these ads on a blog page that gets stumbled for 10 or 20 thousand views! Think about how nice it will be to put these ads on your free Blogger blogs! The possibilities are endless!

The legend of Saint Nicholas and the History of a Holiday Icon, and Why He Looks the Way He Does

If your entertaining for the holidays be sure to pickup 10 Merry Christmas Cocktails.

For a Jolly Good Time, Chat With Santa on Windows Live Messenger - You can simply add Santa’s address, Northpole@live.com, to their Windows Live Messenger contact list and instantly open a conversation window to communicate with Saint Nick.  Pretty cool give it a try.

NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) has been tracking Santa Claus since 1955.

Track Santa Claus

OBERLIN, Kansas (AP) – A postcard featuring a color drawing of Santa Claus and a young girl was mailed in 1914, but its journey was slower than Christmas. It just arrived in northwest Kansas. The Christmas card was dated December 23, 1914, and mailed to Ethel Martin of Oberlin, apparently from her cousins in Alma, Nebraska. It’s a mystery where it spent most of the last century, Oberlin Postmaster Steve Schultz said.“It’s surprising that it never got thrown away,” he said. “How someone found it, I don’t know.”

Ethel Martin is deceased, but Schultz said the post office wanted to get the card to a relative. Read the rest of the article at CNN.

Cocktail Recipe: Jesse’s Christmas Jizz
1 oz Egg Nog
1/2 oz Amaretto
1/2 oz Kahlua

Pour Egg Nog in shooter glass. Slowly add Amaretto (this will make the jizz rise to the top). Slowly add Kahlua (Kahlua will settle between Amaretto and Egg Nog). Take the glass in hand, swallow, don’t spit. Enjoy, and wipe your chin off.

Here are some links for quick and easy ways to research that gift idea before you wrap it up (provided by Wisebread):

Epinions — Users review everything including electronics, toys and books. It even has a Gifts section with perfumes, flowers, watches and wines.

CNET — The authority on electronics, with professional and user reviews of cameras, computer, TVs and the like. Especially helpful are the site’s boiling each product down to a single rank number and its ability to compare multiple items all on one page.

Amazon — Even if you’re not shopping online, it’s a good idea to look up your target product on a major retailer site such as Amazon, where others who bought the same thing will share their views. And by the way, check out this amusing review.

Consumer Reports — The best stuff is for members only, but its worth the investment, especially since you can join for one month for just $5.95. Holiday-related reviews featured on the site right now include GPS systems and sparkling wines.

Merry Christmas Video a little rude but hey spread the cheer.

Google Giving Away 10 Million Dollars in Free Money

Posted by Admiral70 | Mobile Devices, Technology | December 2007

Looking through my Entrecard dashboard and found this video on JoeTech.com.  It’s about the highly anticpated Gphone, oh wait, I mean Google mobile platform called Android.

Steve Horowitz, Engineer Director for Google said

there is actually NO GPhone

He does go on to say

they hope the (Android) platform will enable people to create thousands of GPhones.

So which is it, no gphones or gphones?

These are the times I wish I was a developer.  To maybe collect on some of that $10 million Android challenge
