2007-July-31 WLS Update

Oh no, it was not a very good week.  I weighed in at 175.4 this morning, that is up a couple.  Some would say about time but for me and where I have been that is not what I wanted to see this morning.  I know my problem is the grazing I have been doing at night.  I have been doing a little more than normal.  I will need to dig deep this week and work on my mental attitude towards eating. 

I find that eating is a huge mental game.  I am not hungry mainly because I still do not get hungry due to my surgery.  So with that in mind it is all in my mind that I feel I need to eat something.  Sometimes I think I graze because of boredom it only happens at night when I am home.  This would be a good one for Dr. Phil don’t you think?

I will work through the issues and do better this week I need to be around the 170 mark for my 2 year annual checkup.  No reason other than I want to be at that weight.

Up until 2005 I was a normal hard working father of 4 happily married. Then May 3, 2005 I had major heart issues which put me in the hospital for five weeks being worked up for a heart transplant. I was then fortunate to get out and have weight loss surgery and over 180 pounds later I do not need a heart transplant. I am still working hard married to a beautiful wife Tammy and have three children in the home and one gown up and on her own.   1. I have bad eating habits: Often, I eat nothing throughout the day. If I have apples at the office, I will eat an apple around 10 AM and another around noon. If I have no apples, I drink spring water. I know I should eat more throughout the day but simply am not motivated to do so.

    I generally eat only one real meal a day. I should eat more throughout the day.

    Eating right is really a catch 22. Don’t over eat, don’t under eat. Watch your calories, watch your sugars, oh it never ends.

    I have a protein drink in the morning for breakfast. Lunch I generally have some sort of leftovers. Dinner is my only real meal. Sometimes I think I could have a protein drink in the morning and a protein drink in the afternoon then eat dinner. Not sure that would be wise, maybe I should try it and post about it?
